Why is a reboot required after sending an Axis Configuration from LogicWorks to a SigmaLogic axis? Posted Date: 09/12/2014 Answer: Some of the configuration files in the SigmaLogic are only read at power-up. These files contain information about the scale factors, servopack parameters and other configuration options of the built-in controller. Why does the SigmaLogic controller sometimes reboot twice? Posted Date: 09/15/2014 Answer: Some parameters set in the SigmaLogic servopack require a logical power cycle to become active. If the configuration has changed, particularly those values set in the Configure – Options section of LogicWorks, another reboot will be required before the new settings will take effect. Part of the SigmaLogic Embedded Software boot up sequence compares the actual servopack parameters to the desired configuration. If there is a mismatch, the desired parameters are sent to the servopack and an automatic reboot is triggered. The new parameters actually take effect after this second reboot. Updates will be found at the SigmaLogic product page at www.yaskawa.com/SigmaLogic . Firmware updates will rarely be needed but may be installed using the build-in web server. What causes FLT_BSY output to come on at a SigmaLogic AOI block? Posted Date: 09/15/2014 Answer: Almost all of the SigmaLogic Add-On Instructions require exclusive control of the axis. FLT_BSY indicates that another AOI already has control of the axis and this new AOI cannot be executed. A common cause is leaving the MSO_Yaskawa (Motion Servo On) block powered. This AOI requires only a momentary signal. Toggle MSF (Motion Servo Off) to disable the servomotor. A signal at MCFG_Yaskawa.AOI_Active can be used for interlocking blocks in the program. To view which block currently has control, see the Controller tag ‘AxisRef’.AIO_SB. In this example, the MAH_Yaskawa (Motion Axis Home) block has control. How is the Sequence Table Executed on SigmaLogic? Posted Date: 03/02/2015 Answer: The sequences are first created with the free LogicWorks software. Then they can be executed in a Test Mode independently from the PLC inside of LogicWorks. Finally they can be executed from the Rockwell 5000 software through the Motion Sequence Run (MSQR_Yaskawa) Add On Instruction. They can even be edited from the PLC with the Motion Sequence Edit (MSQE_Yaskawa) Add On Instruction. To remove the communication delay between sequences, it is possible to automatically branch to another sequence when the first sequence is complete.
