Choosing a Servo - Direct Drive
IRON CORE OR CORELESSDirect coupling, space savings, and smoothness of movement are important reasons to choose Yaskawa direct drive servo motors. Yaskawa’s SGM7D motors feature heavy duty bearings and winding technology optimized for large mechanical loads. The SGM7F motors are very compact, and the iron core design further improves torque density. The coreless design of the SGM7E eliminates the motor cogging for smooth motion even at very low speeds. A direct drive product can be coupled directly to a load, eliminating gearboxes and couplings to reduce machine cost, eliminate maintenance headaches and prevent mechanical breakdowns. Yaskawa’s direct drive designs are among the most compact in the automation industry, leading to a more space-efficient machine design. |
