|Question:||How do the PAO and PSO signals differ during initial absolute encoder data transfer?|
|Answer:||After the SEN signal is given, the amplifier will send the multi-turn count serially to the controller via the PAO line. Once the serial data is transferred, the PAO and PBO lines send incremental pulses equal to the current position within the cycle. The counter on the controller side must count these pulses to determine the current position.|
After the PAO and PBO lines have finished sending the initial position, these lines will only send incremental pulses and the PSO line will begin sending multi-turn and absolute position serially approximately every 40ms. The PSO serial data differs from the initial PAO serial data transfer because it contains both the multi-turn count as well as the absolute position within the current cycle serially.
