| Question: | Can the SMC-2000 and/ or SMC-3010 be switched into and out of gearing while the motor is moving? |
| Answer: | Yes. The attached program demonstrates how to ramp up or down into gearing when speed matching is important, but position matching is not. Basically, two variables are created: one contains the current jogging speed of the motor and the other is for gearing. As one variable is incremented, the other variable is decremented. In this way, the speeds will cross each other. For example, to transition into gearing, gearing will slowly be phased in and jogging is slowly phased out. |
