Question:What does it mean that, "motor protection time constant for the electrical termal device is 8 minutes"?
Answer:This refers to Motor Overload Protection Time constant when a cold start is performed. After switching ON the power, a fault will occur if the motor runs at 150% of the load for 8 minutes. It is equal to running the motor at 150% load for 1 minute when using a hot start (after continuing to drive at 100% load).
